Constructive Criticism. Critique given by reviewers to help a writer improve his/her work.The opposite of a flame. There is nice CC, matter of fact CC and harsh CC.

Flames are criticism without help suggestions

CC Example 1: This story is pretty damn good, but I do have a slight issue with A and C. Improve and it'll be as good as B and D.

CC Example 2: What have you done? This story is very poorly written, yet it could be great if you do this this this and this. I also suggest you find a beta reader.

CC Example 2: WTF? What is this crap? You don't have any writing talent whatsoever! *proceeds to tell why*

freeballing

Going without undershorts, said of a male, so called because his balls hang free and unencumbered. A similar expression is "going commando," which can be used of either a male or female without underwear, but is more often used of a male.

"A lot of guys like to freeball in the summer, but I prefer jockey shorts, to give my balls a little support, since otherwise they hang too low in the heat. I do freeball if I'm anticipating a sexual encounter, however!"

short hairs

A euphemism for "pubic hairs," itself in this context a euphemistic metonymy for "balls". It is used mostly in expressions such as "to have someone by the short hairs," which is to say "to have someone in a very difficult or hopeless situation," equivalent to "to have someone by the balls."

It was a real Catch 22! They had me by the short hairs, and they knew it.
