When husbands rush to cover for a wife's embarassing behaviour -during a PMS bout for example- in a party or at the mall by apologizing profusely to everyone present and sheepishly picking up after the mess she leaves behind.

Paul: Hey Jim, is that your wife picking up the FootLocker guy by the nose-ring and hitting him with a running shoe on the head?
Jim (shooting towards the store): Damage cuntrol, damage cuntrol...

Someone mythicates when he thinks he can lie and confabulate for a high purpose, but for a strange human psychological quirk, he ends up believing that those fantasies he made up are true. This happens more than often among political and religious movements leaders and thinkers.

Mythicate - When Rumsefeld declared that Iraq had Weapons of Mass Destruction, he was mythicating thru his teeth.

freakshow politics

Used by certain political groups or agents. Freakshow politics is a divisive type of strategy that capitalizes on extreme aspects -usually negative ones- of the political opponent and utilizing those thru media and propaganda to attack that opponent's character and reputation instead of tackling the real facts and issues at hand.

John Kerry and the swift boat debacle, that was freakshow politics at its best.

necessary myth

In politics, a necessary myth is what the powerful elite creates to fill an ideological or spirtual vacuum in society, with the purpose of giving the populace something to believe in. The myth can be a certain religious idea, the promise of a better future for all, or if everything else fails, the promise of protecting us from the nightmare of terror and nuclear holocaust.

Alqaeda as an extraodinary well organized and powerful network with tentacular reach was a myth created by the Neo-Conservatives. It was a necessary myth cogitated out of whole cloth by these to get a firmer grip on power and farther their misguided agenda.

Precautionary Principle

It is when a country attacks another country (or entity) that it fears may plan to attack it later. In other words, it takes action not because of factual threat but of mere potential risk. The precautionary principle is also applied when someone is detained or jailed not because of what he has actually done but because of what the government or police think he may potentially do.

The United States attacked and occupied Iraq using the Precautionary Principle. Nothing would prevent it to use the same principle to attack Iran.
