Shyness is being timid and nervous around people you don't know, and sometimes people you do know. Shy people usually have few friends, if any, and are very often introverted. Shy girls are almost universally seen as adorable, but shy guys are seen by some as lame, and seen by others, such as myself, endearing.

An introvert isn't the antisocial *sshole that some of the other definitions have made them out to be. They're misunderstood because they make up a minority of the population. They recharge via solitude. Some socialize in small groups, and others get very nervous and don't socialize unless spoken to.
As an introvert, I need my alone time every now and then.
