"Inverse Bubble." Most bubbles like the stock or real estate markets expand before they burst. With Inflation, there can be an "inverse bubble" when the government suppresses for years admitting real inflation rates. This bubble will explode upwards, not downwards, but everybody will be just as surprised as is typical when the usual expanding bubbles burst. Everyday common experience is that we are living in a period of great increase in prices everywhere, but in order not to pay more for social security, interest on the national debt, etc., the government has been denying real inflation for years. Just consider housing, health care, travel, education, and even a quart of milk. In the long run, all economic factors equilibrate, and one of these days we can expect a sudden, massive and surprising increase in inflation which will be as disruptive as the regular burst bubbles of recent years.
The government has denied inflation for so long, we can be sure when its inverse bubble bursts upwards, everybody will express the same astonishment as when the real estate bubble burst downwards.

We typically think of roads and bridges as infrastructure. So long as potholes are filled and bridges are safe, we take infrastructure for granted because our real goal is the journey, not the road. This is Public Infrastructure which also includes other large undertakings such as national defense, elections, power grids, etc. Less appreciated is Personal Infrastructure, everything we all need to set us up for our enjoyable and productive journeys through life. Our most important Personal infrastructure is health and education. Also are all the little tasks necessary to support our journey such as shopping, servicing cars, paying taxes, cleaning the house--endless.
Sentence
We assume government pays for public infrastructure from roads and bridges to national defense, with private financing for our capitalist development. Political disputes, however, rage over who pays for the basics of Personal Infrastructure, individual health and education.

A short dictionary definition of "scofflaw" is "a contemptuous law violator." In practice it is often used to refer to a husband who stops paying his court-ordered alimony or child support. But, the term "scofflaw" can also be applied to US citizens who have the right to vote in elections, but who neglect to do so. In our democracy, voting is the most basic civic duty. Unless blocked by voter suppression, illness, or other understandable reason, voting should never be neglected.
Given all the current frustration with our national government, one primary cause of bad or weak government is the almost 40% of eligible voters, the scofflaw voters, who for whatever reason or rational, choose not to vote .
