A moderate Democratic Senator, different ranking methods rate him between the 12th and 22nd most liberal Senator, he is in the center of the Democratic Party. Voted for the Iraq War. During the Democratic primary most people said they voted for him for no other reason than him being "electable". In exit polls 80% of the people who voted for Kerry said they were going on what they had seen on TV, 20% had actually researched all of the candidates. It was the opposite for Dean, 80% of the people who had voted for Howard Dean had researched all of the candidates. He was not a "flip-flopper", he never changed his mind on an issue, but on many issues he was deliberately vague. Contrary to Republican propaganda he did have one consistent position on Iraq.
Even though Kerry was such a poor candidate, Bush won with the smallest margin of victory for a sitting president in U.S. history. Bush received 2.5% more than Kerry; the closest previous margin won by a sitting President was 3.2% for Woodrow Wilson in 1916.

I'm sick of the Democratic Party nominating conservative Democrats, it's time to have a real liberal like Dennis Kucinich run for President. I will admit that Kerry was slightly better than Clinton or Gore.

Get the francemug. Al Gore NEVER said he "invented" the internet, this was pinned on him by the conservative media after he said he "helped to create the internet". Senator Al Gore was instrumental in getting congress to fund ARPANET, the pre-curser to the internet. He was only doing what all politicians do, taking credit for a pet project that he believed in and worked hard to fund.
It's exactly like saying Bush attacked Iraq, he didn't actually do it, but he was the main government figure that made it happen.

Get the nascarmug. Vice President under Clinton. He Ran for President in 2000 and won the popular vote, but lost by 500 votes in Florida because the election was fixed by Jeb Bush and Catherine Harris.
If Al Gore would have fought harder in 2004, the American Taliban wouldn't have been able to steel the election again in 2004.

In 1964 Democrats from northern states voted almost unanimously for the civil rights bill, Democrats from the south voted almost unanimously against it. The Democrats who opposed civil rights were southern conservatives, they would be Republicans today.
Strom Thurmond was a Democrat, he left the Democratic party in 1964 specifically because he opposed civil rights for blacks. Charles Pickering, the conservative judge appointed to a federal appeals court by GW Bush during a senate recess was a Democrat and switched to the Republican party in 1964, specifically because he opposed civil rights for African Americans. Many Republicans who supported civil rights became Democrats in 1964.
Look at a map of former slave states and compare it to a map of the 2004 electoral college results. Notice a pattern? Ohio, Indiana and Iowa changed from free states in 1861 to Republican states in 2004, Maryland and Delaware changed from slave states in 1861 to Democratic states in 2004. Except for those 5 states, the maps match up exactly.
