Wapanese

Litterally "Wannabe Japanese" American slang for anyone who isn't Japanese but wishes they were.

Sympoms include:

1)Dissing your country & race.

2)An Excessive J-rock/J-pop/J-metal/J-Tech/J-Goth/J-Rap CD collection, music videos & wall posters.

3)An extencive Japanese slang vocabulary from music, fashion, lifestyles, books, etc. Words like "Visual Kei" "Gothic Lolita" "Ganguro" "Kogal" "Otaku" "Cosplay" "Yaoi" "Doujinshi" "Para-Para" "Parasite singles" & "Con"

4)Being a total geek about Japanese sent fandoms like games & animations & being really really proud about it.

5)If you think that Japanese sounds sexier & that the Japanese are sexier & that they have better taste in everything from music to chewing gum.

6)They tend to know trivial facts beyond slang like Japanese minimum wage & why Halajuku & Shinjuku are the coolest places to visit & they contridict you on your pronounciation.

"My sister is sooo Wapanese! She sings totmare & Vidoll & Gackt all the time, she has really convincing crossressers pinned to her wall, none of her videos or books are in English, she wont date guys of her own race, she hangs out at Starbucks alot, & she refurs to her sleeping bag as a futon."

Eroica.

Eroica Yori Ai wo Komette is one of the few mangas that can be classified as both shounenai & BL because of how long it's been in publication. Starting in 1978 & still being written to this day.

When writer Aoike Yasuko took a long break in the 90s doing gawd knows what, she picked the story up again with a different art style. She actually managed to convert her art from retro to modern (sadly), & the fans still wait to see if Dorian will ever get Klaus, hoping to heck it doesn't end abruptly like her amazingly funny series; Ibu no Musukotachi.

If you're a BL/shounenai/retro manga fan, you've GOT to add her stuff to your collection!

Retro term once used in Japan to depics softcore romantic relationships between men, aimed for women's entertainment (& not for mockery either). Some people who have touble adjusting or reading Japanese or staying updated still call it Shounenai, but now it's called BL.

Go to Google.om, switch settings to Japanese language only, type in BL. You'll gets tons & tons of links. For you buffs who know katakana & cut-&-paste, try adding wods like gallery & illust for picture BL sites.
