a person who doesn't maintain their appearance (doesn't shave and/or has long hair and/or smells bad). also, a person who is a party animal and acts mentally challenged. another version of a wigwom is just that one friend you have that's weird and you love him/her to death but you can't ever think of anything else to call him/her. can also just be used for an animal such as a small fury dog or a crazy kitty cat that's not well groomed.

Taken from the term “second string” in an athletic competition situation. In football, if the star quarterback gets injured during a play, the second string is called off the bench to replace him/her. A “Second String Friend” is essentially benched until needed, if ever.
