GIF - One of the most fought over words pronunciation-wise. GIF stands for Graphic Interchange Format. As a result, it is pronounced GIF, not JIF. As Graphic has a hard G, not a soft G, it is not pronounced the same as the famous peanut butter brand, JIFF.

Graphics interchange format, a.k.a GIF, is a little moving picture that has no sound. Like a 2 second quiet movie.
