A tergel is a guy that you didn't like at first but have grown to like. He's sweet, charming, a bit annoying and can always make you laugh. By the time you realize that you like him and want to date him, the window of opportunity has passed and you can only think about what might've been.
Person 1: Ugh...I hate that guy I hope I don't see him ever again!
Person 2: You've been talking about him for 20 minutes though...
