Shortened form of symphony. Usually used to describe a particular orchestra which performs symphonys.

a person who thinks that progressive rock music begins and ends with Genesis and Yes. They do not acknowledge other styles of progressive rock music such as Zeuhl, Canterbury, Jazz Rock or Avant Rock. They think that Genesis and Yes are superior to all other music in the history of sound.

Similar to an orch dork, a symph nymph is a person who plays violin, viola, cello, and/or bass in an orchestra/symphony. They're just slightly cooler and obviously have a more creative and original mind.
