A varient of the term PUG (Pick Up Group), used in World of Warcraft. SPUG refers to a "Super Pick Up Group" of selected powerful well equiped players that is used to dominate a PvP battleground or an instance. Also sometimes a SPUG could be refered to as an "A team" of some of the best players you can gather into a group.
"OMG I was in this SPUG and we pwned everyone we went up against! We won 12 times in a row in Warsong Gulch and they didn't cap a single Flag in any of the games!"
