Someone who addresses their views with an amount of passion is said to be standing on their soapbox.
In public places like London's Hyde Park individuals can advocate one cause or another. Some speakers in these public forums will bring a 'soapbox' to project their voice and to be seen by those who might cluster around.

An exclamation made when your friends or family are teasing you to a point where you can't handle it anymore and a hissy fit is in order.
Derived from a YouTube user's famed outburst following Britney's lackluster performance at the 2007 VMA's.

Sarah: 'OMG Susan, I can't believe you are wearing the same skirt as yesterday. Oh, and by the way, EVERYONE knows what you did with Kevin on the weekend. Plus you look a little fat, are you retaining water?'
Susan: 'LEAVE BRITNEY ALONE!'

When someone gives an unimportant impromptu speech, gives their opinion in an unexpectedly long way, or goes on a short tangent about something; that the other person either did not need or want to hear.
Example 1
After listening to someone explain how important it is to do something while he or she is being redundant and/or irritating; also after listening to an explanation of something extremely simple to do:
"Was that really necessary to say? Can you get off your soap box now?"
Example 2
After giving a long description of an opinion or uncalled for advice:
"Alright. I'll get off my soap box now."
Example 3
Stacy took ecstasy with a bunch of friends at rave. While she was rolling she overheard one of her friends, Michael, talking on the phone to his girlfriend.
Michael: "I love you baby. Okay, I'll call you when I leave the rave...there is really bad service."
Stacy: "Hey Michael! Can I talk to you about something? Pleeeease?"
Michael: "Uh, yeah sure. What's up?"
Stacy: "Well, uhm, I think that you should really treat Jessica better....(ect)....So anyway, I really think you need to start being more concerned about her."
Off to the side:
Friend A: "Holy crap. She really needs to get off her soap box! It's so annoying."
Friend B: "I know. He definitely did NOT ask for her advice. Michael treats Jessica so well! The only reason why he's here is because his dad bought the ticket as a present for his birthday. Why did we let her take drugs?! Ugh."
Friend C: "Hey, hate to interrupt the shit talking, but our pills should be kicking in soon! Let's go back and try to see if she wants to dance, that should distract both of them."
