A mood where you feel like sighing all the time. Usually the "infected" are unhappy, but may also be wistful or any other emotion which produces sighs. Not to be confused with clinical depression, which is more persistent but not necessarily more intense.

Def- the repetitive release of sighs in lieu of actual words used to passive aggressively attempt to communicate: frustration, resentment, contempt, anger or some other feeling that grows inside when one has swallowed their words and silenced their truth. Used almost exclusively by folks who aren't even aware how disconnected they are from authenticity.

It is a sign of being tired, working on your computer too long or dealing with irritating clients over the phone. Also could be a general unhappiness with your life.
It happens when they get up, sit down, walk into your office, or while doing absolutely anything. The sign is usually accompanied by whining and complaining about one self.
It makes you wonder what everyone is so damn unhappy about?!

A sigh jinx is when two or more people sigh at the same time, and one person yells Sigh jinx! Thus causing the other sighing members to be rendered silent until their name is said three times in a row.
Sean and Jessica sighed at the same time. Jessica yelled Sigh Jinx! At the top of her lungs rendering Sean silent until she said his name three times.
