A combination of the two words “savage and gnarly “ a how do you to have derived from two similar but different outdoor pursuits. “ Gnarly” coming from the surfing world and “savage” from mountain adventures. It describes something which is both very scary and very difficult. Often used in conjunction with a hand sign which is a claw which represents Savage , which you shake like the classic surfing hand signal.
