Sandoz is (or rather was, in the 60's) a popular nickname for the drug LSD.
Sandoz was the name of the pharmaceutical company that Albert Hofmann was working for when he discovered the drug. The company produced and distributed the LSD under the brand name "Delysid" up until 1967 when the drug was made illigal, and Sandoz was forced to cease production.
