The state of being in an unmoving line at a store, especially a supermarket, either for a price check, stupid cashier, "the key", etc. This is exacerbated by moving to another line that also gets stuck just as your original line starts moving!
I would have been home sooner, but I got stuck in purgastory when the fool in front of me argued over the price of cheese!
