This word was coined by a group of surgeons. A picture is worth more than 1000 words, and this is particularly relevant to demonstrating complex techniques and steps in surgery, where a simple description cannot capture all of the nuances.
Specifically, this word was coined by a group of orthopedic foot and ankle surgeons, who wouldn't mind the word used and spelled as "fotocation" (verb: fotocate, adjective: fotocational) as well.
