A word invented by the rapper Nicki Minaj. When something is said that could have a sexual connotaion, saying "pauz" negates said connotation. It's basically the opposite of "that's what she said".
Timmy: "Damn I just got a cut and it hurts!"
Jayneil: "Want me to blow it, it'll feel good. Pauz"
Timmy: "Sure, thanks! For a second there I thought you wanted to give me a blow-job, but then you said 'pauz'".
Jayneil: "Want me to blow it, it'll feel good. Pauz"

Dan: okay, I think it might have been Will Ferrel, or Jerry Seinfield. Maybe Channing Tatum.
Nate: ahh, I think Channing Tatum. Now I'll check to see if we are right.

Faux (French term for fake) + Faux Pas (A violation of accepted social norms) + Pause = Faux Pauz

1. A fake pause, meaning your life still goes on while you hang around/pause.
2. Work is never-ending, thus a faux pauz (or a fake pause) in life would assist one in unwinding and savouring the little things.
3. Faux Pauz militates against the convention that life is a rat race. Life is more than that.
