This is how you spell the sound of whimpering. One can use the actual letters as a form of comedic whimpering. The letters are said individually and in pairs, as in: M-H, M-H, M-H.

Not much is known about this spelling, however many scholars attribute the origin of the spelling to a young teenager in the 1980's who lived on Long Island. Legends say that to this day, this man continues to mhmhmh all over the place.

Noun: a friend who is usually only called upon by a friend when a more primary/prominent friend is unavailable.

Taken from the term “second string” in an athletic competition situation. In football, if the star quarterback gets injured during a play, the second string is called off the bench to replace him/her. A “Second String Friend” is essentially benched until needed, if ever.
