In buddhism, the demon Mara holds the wheel of life, and is the final test before one enters Nirvana.
Gautama Buddha taught the monks that when one has overcome his 5 Skandahs, understood the 4 truths of suffering and completed the eight-stepped path, he would be able to break out of Samsara and face the dreadful Mara. When the monk had no Karma, he would not fear Mara and he would slip into Nirvana.

Mara is an beautiful, compassionate, kind, loving, respectful and intelligent person. She'll always be there for you, she'll talk to you for hours until you feel better. She's shy in public but if you get to know her you'll see how much comfortable she can become. What can I say..she's increadible in so many ways. Pure wife material ;)

2) A Demon King who did everything he could to disrupt or destroy Buddha and his mission of Enlightenment.
