short form for knanaya people- a group of mallu christians who practice endogamy (they reject people who marry outside of their community/cult).
They claim to originate from a group of 72 families who travelled from Mesopotamia to Kerala under the leadership of Knai Thomman in AD 345. They assume they’re ✨racially distinct✨ from other mallus because of endogamy and yet they look like every other mallu 🤔. They all think of themselves as the shit but in reality are living in their own bubble.
