guy 1: dude what are you looking at?
guy 2: oh! yeah man i just went on a hypothetical adventure thinking about what would happen if I ever told my wife about the night a did her sister, and apparently she would take a bat to my car and then put me in the hospital

when you are in a deep thought (possibly high) and completely zoned out or half asleep and you begin thinking of some hypothetical situation where you or someone might do something and then carry on thinking out what would happen in great detail for an extended period of time
Guy #1:Dude, you just zoned out for like fifteen minutes.. I didn't want to say anything because I thought you were sleeping with your eyes open.
Guy #2: Yeah man I just went on a hypothetical adventure about what would happen if I told my girlfriend I was sleeping with her sister and apparently she'd take a bat to my car and probably put me in the hospital
