a person with extravagent luxuries that they clearly cannot afford and they live in the hood or have a hood lifestyle

hood rich is a person living in the projects on his mommas welfare check and aint got no job but outside you can see his escalade sittin on dubs and hes always wearing a fresh pair of jordans when they cant even afford the gas for the truck

Hood Rich

Adjective. Used to describe someone who doesn't have a job but still, somehow, manages to stay sharp. This often leads to one not being able pay their rent due to all of their money being spent.

One can often identify someone who is hood rich by their quarter tank of gas in their new E-class (whilst still believing that they will ride) and their gator boots with a pimped out Gucci suit.

Typically, one who is hood rich will preach their hood richness, despite having everything in their momma's name.

Winston: "Ah, I am finally able to buy that '98 Civic that I've been saving up for after working 40 hours a week at my summer job."
Jamal: "Ha, you trippin'. I used my momma's credit card to buy myself a Mercedes. Check out them rims!"
Winston: "Wow, thats impressive. Speaking of... can you give me a ride to the dealership?"
Jamal: "Nah, dawg, sorry. I only got a quarter tank of gas in my new E-class; I can't be drivin' around all the time."
Winston: "Why don't you just fill it up? Don't you have a job?"
Jamal: "Hah, nah, man."
Winston: "How do you stay so sharp? More importantly, how do you manage to pay your rent?!"
Jamal: "I'm hood rich, son. I do what I want."

i.e... Big Time Drug Dealers

Hood rich is not living on welfare or having low income or not having your own. If that was the case it wouldn't be called hood "rich".

You can afford an upscale lifestyle, but don't have the legitimates to completely live the lifestyle

1.) The act of being hood or ghetto in a celebrative matter. When something or someone is ‘Hood Rich,’ it often expose high glam, popularity, southern hospitality, a little bit of income, a relax state of mind, or positive living in a not-so positive place. When it comes to some exerts of being Hood Rich, it can be viewed as enjoying a Friday evening with the block boys, pretty girls, cheap alcohol beverages, pressure (cannabis), and music enjoying a night-in a term like that, the even can be described as a ‘Hood Rich’ event.
2.) A Hood Rich person is someone living in a project, block, or ghetto that has a pleasant lifestyle of a type of lower social status luxery.
3.) A term describing a success from nothing to something.

Person 1: Damn nigga what a beautiful southern night! Girls, brew, pressure, and black-n-milds!
Person 2: Yea nigga this is Hood Rich!

Jackie: Damn look at Tommy he be looking all hooked up.
Lilly: I know right and he be staying up in them Rembrant Apartments, how he be doing that?
