This is the term used by buzzword management types who are full of their own self-importance. Unlike normal people who just, look for and move jobs, the aforementioned buzzword management types don't do this they have to be "headhunted". It's also a term used by bone idle dumb housewives to boost their social standing amongst like-minded people during coffee mornings
"yeah hubbie John has changed job, he was headhunted last week by this multinational"
