Halloween is a holiday on October 31st. It’s a holiday where children walk around and collect candy, Halloween is a favorite because all the children dress up, and they get candy! Also, Halloween is very spooky, don’t get too scared! 👻

An event that is celebrated on the 31st of October. Kids and young teens commonly dress up as a character (fictuous or real), and then go walking around the streets of their neighborhood to collect candy.

This celebration is an excuse to invite people over and have a giant party (despite the fact that Halloween is usually on a weekday), as long as they wear costumes so it's Halloween-appropriate.

This celebration is also an excuse to eat however much candy you want.

I've nicknamed this holiday 'Diabetes Day' due to all the candy.

Once, my little brother went trick-or-treating around just to get the candy, despite having absolutely no costume for Halloween.

'all hallows (saints) evening'. in scottish it is 'even', so it becomes halloween in short. on this evening children dress up as malignant spirits, to show that they're mocking them, and that god's writ runs supreme. it is also believed that evil spirits rise for that one night for one ghastly carnival, and will try to take vengeance on their enemies. by disguising, or guisin', one can deflect these maleficents. the day also marks the journey of souls in purgatory to either heaven or hell. soul cakes are distributed to pray for all the departed faithfuls. little children , called soulers, will trick or treat, meaning, will play pranks on you if you don't treat them with soul cakes - simply fruit cakes, with charms or gifts packed inside them. yes, it has pagan roots, though modern christians wink at it, as long as kids have fun. the church tried to convert it to a day of remembrance of hallows , or saints.
