two people who are bestfriends; people who are top-notch friends. Derived from the web series of Jake and Amir from www.jakeandamir.com.
Amir: Jake and Amir are two gullies that work together, live together, and play together.
Jake: We're not really best friends, so don't type that.
Amir: Yes we are.
Jake: No we aren't, and we also don't live together.
Amir: Whatever.
Jake: Not whatever.
Amir: Dinner tonight?
Jake: Nope.

just as thug derives from the indian thugee cult, gully is taken from the indian definition of "street". the literal translation is alley. Gully, in indian languages means dirty, street, dangerous. The origins of these words is sanskrit.
US - Keep it gully! - keep it raw/street
india - that guy has respect in the gully - that guy has respect in the streets.
