Top definition
A media-based feedback loop where a public representative verbally repeats a foxfact he saw on the news and is subsequently quoted as the originator of said foxfact. The feedback occurs as the public announcement of the foxfact lends legitimacy to its falsely attributed originator.

Recent examples include the Greatest President of All Time repeating the stance "the cure cannot be worse than the disease" from Steve Hilton's "Next Revolution" show and Fox News reporting the same in light of the Corona crisis.

Foxback loops contribute significantly to the accelerating self-destruction of media objectivity and credibility, spur conspiracy theories and guarantee the re-election of the Greatest President of All Time complete with its catastrophic aftermath.
Confusing statements made by D. J. T. have started a disastrous foxback loop which lead to people ingesting bleach, injecting themselves with disinfectant and burning radio towers they suspected to spread the virus.
