/fort-stir/n. A Fortster is a sub-species of hipster which first surfaced circa early 2012 in Boise, Idaho. A Fortster is obsessed with and talks incessantly about the TreeFort Musical Festival as if it's the 2nd coming of Woodstock. Fortsters are the type to post the event on reddit months before the event's date in March even though redditors can't remember shit over 3 days old.
Ironically, Fortsters believe they are on the cutting edge of music culture when in fact TreeFort music is just folk-rock which has been around since at least the mid 1960s.
An intrepid youtuber could video countless Fortsters, asking them what they think about band X, Y or Z and a Forster would commence to rave for many seconds about band X, Y and Z even though no such band has ever existed. In other words, the need to feel hip is so powerful in a Fortster that they would lie to prove their hipness.
