fact editor

Someone who repeats a previously stated fact only changing a few choice words in an attempt to subtly correct their mistake.

Jim: Hey, look at that nice 25 footer boat out in the parking lot!
Kyle: Yeah, that is a real nice 24.5 foot boat.
Jim: Stop being such a goddamn fact editor, Kyle!!!
