A condition in which engineering, math, science, or other STEM majors have extreme difficulty talking to the opposite sex. Often these people are hold up in their "comfy zone", library, home, or some other quiet location studying. Because of this, people who suffer from Engineering Syndrome are single and lonely because their grades in college cannot afford to be stunted by parties or socializing.

A tendency for some engineers to believe that they can solve complex problems in unrelated fields (economics, philosophy, etc) by applying typical engineering strategies (mathematical modeling, etc) despite lacking domain knowledge in the field.

A student currently studying engineering who believes he or she is better than everyone else simply because he or she studies engineering. It is especially common with engineers who are not failing all of their classes, but can be seen in any and most engineers.
Person 1: That engineer just totally made me feel inferior about my major.
Person 2: Don't worry, he just has engineer syndrome. You'll at least make it through college and probably get laid too.

lacking the ability to use common search engines to find answers to general inquiries or devoid of the mental capacity to realize that common search engines can lead to answering almost 99.9% of questions; lacking the sense to research the answer to a question via a search engine.
Rather than searching Google for her answer, Becky decided to wait on hold for 30 minutes to ask what airport was closet to her resort destination. She must be suffering from Search Engine Syndrome
