The heart of AAVE, the part that is shared across most age groups (although they tend to be used most frequently by teenagers) and that link it most strongly to the language's origins in the creole speech of slavery (compare parallels with creole dialects in the Caribbean today or in Hawaii), is its phonology and grammar. These are the parts that tend to be less often diffused to other groups, and that are the most lasting and the most regular. The single biggest mistake people make about AAVE is dismissing it as careless, or lazy speech, where anything goes. As with all spoken languages, AAVE is extremely regular, rule-governed, and systematic.

-John R. Rickford, Stanford University
AAVE/ebonics: "She BIN had dat han'-made dress" (SE: She's had that hand-made dress for a long time, and still does.)

AAVE: "Befo' you know it, he be done aced de tesses." (SE Before you know it, he will have already aced the tests.)

AAVE: "Ah 'on know what homey be doin." (SE: I don't know what my friend is usually doing.)

AAVE: "Can't nobody tink de way he do." (SE: Nobody can think the way he does.)

AAVE: "I ast Ruf could she bring it ovah to Tom crib." (SE: I asked Ruth if/whether she could bring it over to Tom's place.)

What happens when crackers try to put a label on Black jive.
Cracker: "Johnson, I believe that colored fellow just called me a muthafukin, skinny-ass, honky."

Cracker too: "Pay no attention to him, Charlie. He was just speaking his ebonics in saying you are a rather thin, Anglo-Saxon, who does the deed with his mother."

Consisting of the words ebony and phonics. It is a language that has its roots in American slavery and is commonly associated with African Americans. In no way is it a sign of laziness or child like speech by its speaker. Ebonics has been popularized in the past 20 years by the introduction of rap and hip hop but is seen as a creole language comprised of African and English dialects.
My friends were going home Ebonics would translate into: Mah bros be headin to the heezee.
They came to meet me= They come meet me
They were eating= They was eating

Ebonics- are simply english words that have different meanings, and used most of the time in a different context, from what the "norm" would consider to be it's definition.
For example: Crib- this term usually will describe a bed for a baby. On the other hand the ebonical term would have the definition as being- a house, a home, or wherever you live.

Another example would be a popular word: Boo
Boo is known in the dictionary as a word used to express dissatisfaction or contempt, especially at a speaker or performer. However Boo in ebonics can mean a good friend, or a girlfriend. It is used a term of endearment.

All the other stuff you all are writing about is simply called ignorance and is not associated with ebonics in my book.
