a darkist is someone who's been through a lot in their life, seen a lot of shit, put up with shit, and made others put up with shit. they're into the more macabre and horror related sides of life, hence the " dark ", but are still trying their best to find the light life has to offer, though fictional darkness giving them real light as well.
boy: Yeah, i heard she's a real darkist, she's fun to be around for a few minutes though, not exactly my thing...
