That's Cool is a phrase people tend to use when they don't know what to say or are uninterested.

In this context, the word "cool" isn't necessarily positive, and becomes more neutral. This is why there is sometimes confusion when the phrase is used.

Cool Goon was one of many people in a hivemind mentality in a very irresponsible and immature debate in #debate. In this debate one person had seriously suggested potential merits of putting convicts into state-sponsored gladiator fighting systems, and everyone else came down on the dude with massively overwhelming moral shaming. They very rarely cited actual arguments or reasoning against it, preferring to target the individual over the idea. Eventually I stepped in and told them off for not engaging in logical or productive debate, and at that point Hater (the guy with the New England profile) who had previously been participating in the "debate" by occasionally adding his own jabs decided to spend a line saying how much he dislikes debate anyways and it's a dumb channel. I got really pissed at him for that - as it was not something new - and basically told him to either grow up or shut up. He cited autism as an excuse for lack of performance and promptly left the server of his own accord. After my "burn" (as everyone seemed to think it was) people spam reacted with various roast-related emojis. I told them to shut it and keep it mature, and the next one to post an emoji would receive a ban. Cool Goon knowingly posted an emoji. He received a ban.
