Used to discribe the action of bringing a soon to be former member of an organization close just before an unlawful/adverse act, such as killing or firing. This serves to keep the person calm and unaware of the impending adverse action. Also serves to collect information and position the person in pursuit of the action.

In the world of multiplayer gaming, to babysit is to constantly watch a often frequented spot, generally from afar, such as a weapon respawn, spawn point, or entrance, and recieve most of your points from kills in that area.
