aXXo is a one wo/man DVD ripping group. Possibly based somewhere in the US considering most of the DVD rips he/she/it releases are from an NTSC source. aXXo has been releasing DVD rips since late 2005, and to date has released almost 400 separate movies. These movies are initially distributed via the file sharing protocol BitTorrent.
aXXo only ever releases Full DVDRIPs, never Screeners or CAMs. The aXXo name has become synonymous with quality, and s/he has amassed a large group of fans. aXXo rips are usually released some months prior to the official DVD release date.
Some people have criticized aXXo for only releasing 7-900MB rips, claiming that the quality is inferior to 1.4GB rips. It has also been claimed that aXXo does not actually obtain the DVDs s/he rips, but simply re-encodes releases from other RGs such as DiAMOND.
Near the end of December 2006, aXXo temporarily stopped releasing due to a dispute with a site that was using aXXo's name without permission, possibly gaining money from advertising. aXXo returned a month later however, following a backlash against the site in question which subsequently agreed to change it's name.
There are frequently attempts to imitate aXXo's work from groups releasing their own movies using aXXo's name. Such attempts are usually identifiable by discrepancies between the format of the suspect files and aXXo's consistent release style.

Axxo is a group that releases dvd-rip movies, usually before that movie is out. Axxo are well known among the torrent community for their flawless quality and great speed.
Some people feel Axxo releases alot of dull movies, but to be honest they release nearly EVERYTHING, so don't complain, give them your thanks and seed.

axxo is a term that means a media file has the best quality. usually seen associated with ripped videos on torrent sites. in almost every case it is placed at the end of the description.
i believe it origionated with a user or team of users named axxo that made it their mission to rip and share only the very best quality in movies, after a while people who wanted that kind of quality began to look for the axxo tag. i'm not sure if the term specifically means that it is ripped by axxo or if it has broadened to mean high quality in general (as kleenex now means tissue and xerox now means photocopy) but, if it says axxo on it, you should be able to expect quality that is on par with the origional.

A n00b P2P releasing group that steals scene releases and re-encode them and upload 'em to public torrent trackers/sites. n00b torrent leechers usually get their stuff thinking it's an original release.

axxo is a one (maybe 2) men release group who has contacts with the scene, takes their rips, re encodes them to fit in a 700mb CD, and doesn't thank the Scene release group for them...
he publishes all his stuff on public trackers which is why he's famous.
he does post on DarkSide_RG, but is not part of the uploaders team.
he apparenlty uses one of his friend's app to encode his rips and usually doesn't do a great job at it.

if you want to know whether the private tracker you're using is bad, read the rules and if they accept aXXo Rips, it's bad!
