Doing something relatively useless when you should be doing something productive. This comes from the literal meaning, as douching your ass would be useless because it gets dirty next time you use the washroom.

N. A person who is so egotistical that he has very little thought of the feelings of people around him. In short, a person who is too much of an asshole to be just a douche, and too much of a douche, to be just an asshole. It is time to reevaluate yourself if someone refers to you as an ass douche.

Usually a member of the Millennial generation, this individual grew up receiving participation awards and high praise. However, as an adult, this individual, who was raised under the impression he was special, now feels shame and envy for not being able to succeed in a capitalistic society.
Jimmy's parents told him he was a special boy who could have anything he wanted, even through he was in the bottom quartile of his class. Jimmy, now an intern at a corporation, is angry that he can't have the president's parking spot and monthly bonuses. After all, he has been working there for 3 months and his mom says he's the best. Jimmy is an ass douche bag.
