This is Australian Slang. Amber Fluid means beer. It is called Amber Fluid because of the colour the fluid is when in the orange glass bottle. The orange stained glass makes the beer a darker shade of orange, ending up to be Amber. Therefore created the word Amber Fluid.

Merrymakers brought their own beer. Those not provisioned with the amber fluid found a ready supply in the dressing room of the Hilton Base Ball Club at three cents a glass.
