Urban Dictionary: Yaoi

Yaoi is Japanese for "Boy's Love". It is literally about what it says, Homosexuality (Gay Homosexuality). Yaoi is often depicted in Anime and Manga. And can be roleplayed and/or cosplayed. Not only do fangirls love it for shipping their two favorite Anime (or Manga) guys, but many people don't mention how some Gay Males also enjoy reading and/or watching Yaoi.

My Favorite Yaoi shipping is Ereri (Eren x Levi from Attack on Titan)

Yaoi is love between two guys in anime. Many people think it's just gay porn but its not, though there are some yaois that have more explicit content, but people call them 'Hard Yaoi'. Yaoi has more of a story line than Hard Yaoi and the sex scenes in Yaoi aren't as long and you don't actually see them do it. Yaoi is really about relationships between gay people, not them 'getting it on' -_-

Also most people who watch Yaoi are girls who find gay relationships cute, they are called 'Yaoi Fangirls'. However i have heard of straight guys watching Yaoi too.

A good example of a Yaoi is Junjou Romantica.

A good example of Hard Yaoi is Sensitive Phonograph. (yes, its exactly what it sounds like and it the most explicit yaoi i've ever seen)

Yaoi

Yaoi is a popular term in anime and manga-fan circles. It means "boys' love" in Japanese. It is female-orientated anime or manga usually by female authors that is focused on homoerotic relationships and features idealised homosexual relationships. Since You guys can't tell the difference between shonen-ai and yaoi here is the main difference: shoen-ai is really graphic gay porn, considered hentai. Yaoi is as explained above. Yaoi themes pop up in anime/manga like Ouran High School Host Club and Hetalia Axis Powers but some "fangirls" find it in other shows/manga like Naruto or One Piece. The characters involved are usually beautiful teenage boys in their early to mid teens but in Hetalia Axis Powers, it is adults.

Yaoi is pretty much summed up by Hikaru and Kaoru's "forbidden brotherly love" act.
