one of the most stedfast teams in mlb history with a small but militantly faithful and demanding fanbase. despite a great deal of success in the early 20th century, all respect for the white sox was lost in the black sox scandal of 1919. since then, the white sox have been forced to live in the inferior shadow of the hated and ridiculous chicago cubs of the northside. in 2005 dignity was regained when the white sox won the world series by shear teamwork, talent, and determination.
for a true southside raised white sox fan, pain, deep-seated resentment and envy, and extreme highs and lows are the norm. from a very young age, the true sox fan learns all there is to know about baseball and every way in which to hate the cubs. the sox fan (and the true cubs fan for that matter, not the drunken yuppies and tourists spending a summer day in historic wrigley field that make up the majority of their superficial fanbase) knows that reconciliation between sox and cubs fans can never occur. those that say otherwise either dont know shit about baseball or dont know shit about chicago.
"so you're from chicago"
"yeah"
"how 'bout them cubs"
"fuck you, im a white sox fan"

MLB team in bsed in Chicago, on the southside with better consistency, not as strong of a fanbase, or having a better ball park than the Cubs, though the Sox have better food. The Sox have won more World Series than the Cubs (3 to 2), though the Cubs have more games and have a better win percentage, though the Sox have a better win percentage in the Crosstown Series, see there's no way of generalizing it, and I care about Baseball and I've liked the Sox my whole life, and I'm not some dumb ass fair weather fan, so please sox fans thumb this up so we can have one positive definition, and please Cubs fans hear me out and understand. They are a great team.
Since my parents are from the south side and moved to the north suburbs, I knew more Cubs fans, more of my friends are Cubs fans, fuck, I 've even been to quite a few of their games, but still I'm loyal to my team and stop stereotyping some of our fans, I've known as many wealthy Sox Fans as much as I've known wealthy Cubs fans. The Chicago White Sox are an amazing team.

The lesser of two baseball teams in Chicago. Cannot fill their stadium, unless the Cubs are playing at the well named "Cell". Players will take bribes to "fix" a world series. Fans attack elderly coaches from opposing teams. Owners encourage fans to cleanse their repugnant bodies by showering at the ballpark. One Hall of Famer, Frank Thomas, in the last 40 years.
J.R. "Since my basesball team will win this World Series, if they don't take a bribe, let's call for a lockout!"

A team that is more consistent than their north-side counterparts, the Cubs. A Sox fan is better behaved than a Cubs fan, not counting the very rare oddball. A typical Sox fan will actually pay attention to the game. Not to mention, 75% of Sox fans are Chicagoans born and raised, and aren't afraid to go to Bridgeport to see a game, unlike fresh-off-the-bus-from-Kalamazoo fratboys and the Lexus-SUV-driving North Shore types.
Sox fans show the nation Chicago's good side.

a typically obnoxious person who claims to be a better baseball fan than all cubs fans. this person generally would rather see the cubs lose than the sox win. these people, however, have been proven to be too concerned with baseball, to the point that they have made their stadium ugly in order to not distract from the game and seem to enjoy having housing projects around their stadium rather than the great bar scene of wrigleyville. they also seem to be too concerned with baseball to advance in the working world, and often end up working under cubs fans.
white sox fan: "hey son, let's run on the field and attack a 60 year old first base coach"
son of white sox fan: "but dad, i want another beer"
white sox fan: "shut up kid, we're gonna be on TV"

white sox fan: "hey the cubs are losing"
cubs fan: "get back to work or i'll fire you"

A baseball team in Chicago that the Cubs are jealous of because they are the only team that hasn't reached the World Series in 60 seasons, making the Cubs truly pathetic.
Cub fans are so jealous of the Chicago White Sox that they have resort to using urbandictionary.com to create immature troll postings to vent their frustration.

2005 World Series Champions. It was their 3rd championship in the club's history.
The Chicago White Sox hadn't won the World Series since 1917......until this year.
