Simu Liu, who plays Jung in Kim's Convenience (Canadian television, CBC) in a Chinese-Canadian actor who set his mind on being a superhero a long time ago. He worked relentlessly to make it happen, using all tools at his disposal (including a social media Tweet to Marvel in 2014 asking for an Asian American Superhero, and maintaining an athletic lifestyle in order to maximize his chances of landing such a role).

In 2019, Marvel announced that Simu Liu would become the new ShangChi, in a film set to be released in 2021, leading to the expression "to Simu Liu" something being representative of working really hard and accomplishing the impossible, against all odds.
Teen: "Mom, I really want to get into this exclusive dance program, but I'm not sure I'm good enough."
Mom: "You can do anything you set your mind to. But you're going to have to Simu Liu it!"
