The state of paranoia or a horrible time when you're on a drug or drugs. Pretty much put, a bad trip. Popularized in the movie "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas", starring Johnny Depp and Benicio Del Toro when they start to have a bad trip.

CHANDLER: Because, I'm too afraid.
