A term for a group of related circumpolar ethnic groups near or in the Arctic Circle, such as the Inuit and Yupik. Considered derogatory by many in Canada and Greenland.

Canada:
Man 1: "I know some guy who's moving in from Nunavut."
Man 2: "Is he an Eskimo?"
Man 1: "Wow, that's pretty racist."

USA:
Man 1: "I know some guy who's moving into Anchorage tomorrow."
Man 2: "Is he an Eskimo?"
