The Clash broke up in the late 1980's and Strummer went on to a solo career. Controversial singer/instagram star who has conservative/right wing views. Aside from his music career he frequently promotes his opinions on LGBT and politics. Many left wingers/socialists hate him because they think he is transphobic (despite him being a trans male himself). He is also a former liberal which angers people. Link Strummer also is an active face of the transgender community, and calls out people who don't fit his criteria of being trans, and labels them as "SJWs" and "trenders". He is also anti-queer, and thinks pride parades should be banned :(

The Fact that I am the first person to write a definition for Joe Strummer is crying shame. Frontman of the greatest punk band ever to play, The Clash, and later the lead singer of Joe Strummer and The Mescaleros, Joe Strummer, while widely regarded all over the world is still amazingly underrated. More influentual than John Lennon or any other musician, Joe Strummer is quite simply "God."

One of the greatest people who ever has or ever will walk the face of this earth. He was a musician, a political activist, and an all around great guy. Born John Graham Mellor on August 21, 1952. Fronted one of the greatest bands of all time, The Clash. After their breakup, he went on to have a solo career and work in film. In 1999, he formed Joe Strummer and the Mescaleros, a great band. He died on December 22, 2002, at the age of 50. It just goes to show, only the good die young. RIP.
