Snoop Dogg (Born as Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr) was born October 20, 1972 in Long Beach, California. At the age of 8, his mother nick named him 'snoopy' (Snoopy and Peanuts) because his eyes appeared the same as the lovable TV character. Snoop is known best as a MC of West Coast Hip Hop, starting the genre of music G FUNKwith Dr. Dre.

Snoop took the name "Snoop Doggy Dogg" when he began recording, but changed it to Snoop Dogg in 1996 when he left his original label Death Row Records and signed with No Limit Records. Afterwards, many of Snoops cousins became succesful rappers (and collaboraters of Aftermath Records). These names included RBX, Nate Dogg and Daz Dillinger.

As a rapper, snoop happens to be known for his laid back aproach to rapping, often slurring the words over the mic, keeping it rhyming and REAL!

Snoop Dogg is also known for his Marijuana use (what he refers to as "Smokin that real shit" or "Touchin that real STICKY ICKY ICKY!!", his mysonigyst lyrics and complicity in a 1993 fatal shooting.

People often mistake Snoop Dogg for inventing the famous 'language' and now lyrics, involving the addition of IZZLE to words. This was actually created by Frankie Smith and The Gap Band.

Snoop Dogg often mentions the letters LBC in his lyrics, these mean "Long Beach California".

Snoop enjoys calm lyrics of Frank Sinatra and refers to him as the 'original gangsta'

This gangsta has affiliations with the 'Rollin 20's Crips gang. As does Nate Dogg.

Calvin supports sports teams including, the LA Lakers, Pittsburgh Steelers and USC Trojans.
