Shigeru, nicknamed “Shige,” is a mouthful to pronounce. Shigeru is a kind, but confusing person. Still, he is loved by those around him and disliked by those who do not know him. Shigeru is hardworking, talented, and sweet. He loves and cares for people in his life deeply, though he may not know how to show it, it is well known. Shigeru is the best person to have around.

The Japanese name of Gary, Ash's Rival, in the Pokémon series. Shigeru was named after Nintendo video game designer Shigeru Miyamoto as a tribute.
