Robo Recall is a virtual reality FPS game developed by Epic Games available for Rift and Quest platforms. The Rift version of the game was released on March 1, 2017. The Quest version, called "Robo Recall: Unplugged" was released on May 21, 2019. Players control "Agent 34", an employee of a leading manufacturer of service robots referred to as RoboReady. As a "Recaller", it is the player's job to recall/destroy defective robots. After a virus causes all of RoboReady's units to turn against their human masters, the player's mission is to destroy all of these defective units. These defective units are all controlled by one giant robot, Odin. The robot voice, Dolores, helps you throughout all the missions. In the very first mission of the game, an AI named "Philip" begins to speak random sentences to you. Players move via teleportation, which is controlled by the thumbstick. In-game, the player can access four weapons: a pistol, revolver, shotgun, and a plasma rifle, which are all holstered on the shoulders or hips. Although the game is a first-person shooter, players can grab robots, disassemble them, throw them, and use them as a shield to block incoming projectiles. Enemy projectiles can be grabbed and thrown back at enemies. If the player is hit by these projectiles, their multiplier is lowered. More recalls increases the multiplier. At the end of a mission, the player's score is uploaded to the online rankings.
