The act or method of "making" people gay, bisexual, transgender, etc.
While the stereotype is that people just sorta become gay, that's not always how it works. People who are curious are often influenced by gay friends to "become" gay. These people are recruiting straights into the LGBT crowd. The people being recruited are already what they are. The somewhat misleading name of Recruiter makes it look like this person forced someone to be gay, but really they just helped the person through whatever social stigma or personal aversion they had towards realizing who they really were. The writer of this post came out to a straight friend, who after some time gained the confidence to come out as bi among their friend circle. Therefore, they were RECRUITING their friend.
