Originally the home of William Luden (as in Luden's Cough Drops) which sits at the base of Mt. Penn. A "newer" part of the building was built in 1941, which included the gym and about 15 more classrooms. The Cardinals have long been the schools mascot. Because of the school's history, many students and staff have reported seeing ghosts roam the hallways because it is said that the wife and son both died in the mansion of un-natural causes. Almost every student takes pride in going to Central. The school is known for its great sports and school spirit. After the 2010-11 school year, Central's Rival, Holy Name will merge with Central at the location of Holy Name and will be called Berks Catholic High School.
