I am a Welshman, born and bred in Wales - a fluent Welsk speaker- never heard this word in our language and it is highly unlikely that it is of Welsh origin as no "Q" appears in the Welsh alphabet
the nearest possible spelling would be cwim in Welsh but this would have absolutley no meaining and if the word quim was said to any one of us we would not know what you would be talkng about
