Pulling a George is when without warning, or telling you, somebody completely vanishes. Usually done mid-conversation or when they are most needed. Pulling a George is very common in some and is known to be very aggravating to those around the 'George'.

This is a common phrase in the island of Cyprus among English speaking citizens of the island. George is a common name and is used as a definition of doing something completely wrong, or the complete opposite of what it should be. It is more commonly used in the game of pilotta.
